How to check the legitimacy of a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC)
Under Canadian immigration law, only ICCRC (Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council) members with a certified license are allowed to consult, represent the applicants and contact Canada Immigration & Citizenship on behalf of their clients throughout the immigration process in Canada.
In other words, all individuals who do immigration consultancy without being recognized as RCICs are considered illegal. The Government of Canada has promulgated laws to tightly control the immigration field over the years because many individuals have been scammed in applying for visas and transferring their legal residence status in Canada.
