What is the Edutrust concept?
Edutrust Certificate (formerly Casetrust) is a certification for quality private schools in Singapore that are allowed to recruit international students. Since 2010, the Private Education Institution (PEI) began to implement and issue Edutrust certification to private educational institutions in Singapore.
What is Edutrust used for?
Under Singapore regulations, all private educational institutions are required to register with PEI to be able to enroll new students from other countries and obtain the Student Pass for them in accordance with the regulations of the Immigration Department of Singapore.(Source www.cpe.gov.sg)
Edutrust classification and outstanding features
1. Edutrust Star
Score: 750 points or more
Term: 4 years
Characteristics: Edutrust Star certification is awarded to a private educational institution for its outstanding performance in all major areas of management and the provision of quality educational services, which is also a symbol of recognition for sustainable improvement efforts within the organization.
2. Edutrust
Score: 600-749
Term: 4 years
Characteristics: Edutrust Certification is awarded to a private educational institution that has achieved commendable achievements in key areas of management and educational services.
3. Edutrust Provisional
Score: 500-599
Term: 1 year
Characteristics:
Edutrust Provisional certification is awarded to a private educational institution that has achieved minimum requirements in key areas of management and educational services.
In accepting the awards, the organization acknowledges and commits to improving its modern management practices and service regulations.
Edutrust Provisional is only granted a maximum of 2 consecutive times to a school, if the school still fails to meet the requirements (minimum of 600 points), this certificate will be void.
Evaluation criteria for Edutrust certification
Edutrust certification for private schools in Singapore plays an important role in demonstrating its efforts, quality and prestige when recognized by PEI, which strongly affirms the school’s reputation with international students and parents.
To get Edutrust certification, private schools need to meet the following criteria:
- The commitment and responsibility of management boards
- Corporate governance and administration
- Admission system
- Student support and security services
- The training process and student achievement
- Quality standards assurance, monitoring and results
- Website is clear with accurate and complete information
Edutrust validity checking
The Edutrust potency test is very important. Schools that have already passed EduTrust certification can still be removed from the list prior to the expiration time if the institution fails to maintain the required quality.
Visit the website sponsored by the Government of Singapore, then enter the English name of the institution in the “Search” box to check whether the institution’s Edutrust is valid or not and its expiry date.
